Fort Fairfield – Brett L. Tarbox, 66, husband of Rebecca (Corapi) Tarbox, passed away Saturday evening October 13, 2018 at a Presque Isle hospice facility, following a brave battle with cancer. He was born January 7, 1952 in Perham, the son of Albert L. Sr. and Marie (Skidgel) Tarbox. He attended Washburn and Perham schools and served in the United States Navy from 1972 to 1975. He was married to Rebecca Corapi on February 1, 2001 and he had been employed as a cook for The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle for a number of years. He was a life member of the Fort Fairfield VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, and a member of the Fort Fairfield American Legion Walter Lovely Post Number 27. Brett enjoyed cooking for family and friends, fishing, and making wind chimes out of old silverware. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be missed by his many friends whom he shared coffee and conversation with in Fort Fairfield.

In addition to his parents, Brett was predeceased by five brothers, Charles, Elmer, Billy, David and Eugene Tarbox. He is survived by his wife Rebecca of Fort Fairfield; one son, Christopher Tarbox of New Hampshire; two daughters, Beth-Ann Eastman, Danielle Tarbox and her fiancé Peter Smith, all of Limestone; one brother, Albert Tarbox Jr. of Caribou; four sisters, Cheryl Gilliam of Woodland, Jenny Tarbox of Caribou, Vadine Long of Washburn, Deeyet Allen of Caribou. He also leaves behind three stepchildren, Charlotte Cote and her husband Robert, Desiraie Rediker and her fiancé Andy Milliard, all of Fort Fairfield, Matthew Griffin of Franklin; twelve grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a committal ceremony with military honors, which will be conducted Friday October 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Tarbox to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
