Fort Fairfield – George Geoffrey Dionne, 64, passed away Sunday evening September 23, 2018 at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 22, 1954 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Charles Geoffrey and Barbara (Conant) Dionne.

He was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield and a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1973. George had been employed in the potato processing industry at Potato Service, Presque Isle and the Fort Fairfield A & P Processing Plant until it was closed and dismantled in 2012. George enjoyed relaxing on his deck and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the LA Lakers, and the Oakland Raiders sports teams.

George was predeceased in death by his father, Charles. He is survived by his mother Barbara, his sister, Ann Dionne and her husband Rick Shepard, all of Fort Fairfield.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the family plot at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield with Fr. Johnson Sacreties officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.

The family of Mr. Dionne would like to express a sincere thank you to the Aroostook Cancer Center and the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle for the care and kindness shown to George during his illness.
