Easton & Presque Isle – Allene M. Embelton, 92, wife of the late Norris L. Embelton, passed away Tuesday morning, July 24, 2018 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. She was born January 2, 1926 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the daughter of Ernest W. and Laura A. (Sullivan) Murphy.

She attended school in Argosy, New Brunswick and was married to Norris L. Embelton on August 18, 1948. Allene resided in Fort Fairfield and Limestone prior to moving to Easton in 1977 and had been employed by McCain Foods for over 10 years. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield and also attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Embelton was predeceased by one brother, Howard Murphy; one sister, Marie Goodine. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Alton Embelton of Kansas City, MO, Dana and Melinda Embelton of Grandville, MI, Timothy and Kim Embelton of Easton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lorna Rae and Woody Mann, Nora Lee and Frank Popma, all of Dorr, MI, Lisa and Steven Allen of Saco; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Shirley Murphy of Perth, New Brunswick, Ray and Dorothy Dixon of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Conrad and Helen Dixon of Andover, New Brunswick; two sisters, Lois Goodine of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Myrna Kloster of Edmonton, Alberta; three special sisters-in-law, Marie Embleton of Presque Isle, Maxine Theriault and Norma Langer, both of Ocala, FL; one special brother-in-law, Carvell Goodine of Grand Falls, New Brunswick; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

The family of Mrs. Embelton wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Presque Isle Nursing and Rehab Center for the wonderful care given to Allene during her stay.

Friends may call Friday July 27, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday July 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Presque Isle will be private. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Embelton to the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association, Founders Affiliate, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
