Fort Fairfield & Limestone – Lillian A. Glew, 80, wife of the late Gordon Glew Jr., passed away Monday evening, April 9, 2018 at her Fort Fairfield home, following an extended illness. She was born April 2, 1938 in Limestone, the daughter of Preston G. and Elva A. (Donovan) Kenneson.

She attended Limestone Schools and was married to Gordon Glew Jr. on December 7, 1956. Lillian had been employed by the Fort Fairfield School System in their hot lunch program for many years. She was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church, a member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187 Ladies Auxiliary, and generously volunteered her time at “The Closet” thrift store in Limestone.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband Gordon Glew Jr. on May 26, 2011; two brothers, Gerald and George Kenneson; five sisters, Vera McCrea, Mabel Tuck, Doris Glew, Barbara Jean Sirois, and Mildred “Hon” Webb. She is survived by two sons, Peter G. Glew and his companion Barbara Grant of Lewiston, Gordon P. Glew and his wife Susan of Fort Fairfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti A. and Romie Doucette of Brewer, Peggy G. and Gregory Shaw of Wales, eight grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica L. and Robert Irwin of Nashua, NH, Jordan G. Shaw and wife Lucy Wess of Wilton, Olivia B. Shaw of Lewiston, Jennifer and Aaron Bosse of Presque Isle, Julia and E.B. Brown of Poland, Devan A. Doucette and her companion Dustin Littlefield of Brewer, Benjamin G. Doucette of Brewer, Alexandria M. Shaw of Lewiston; 8 great grandchildren, Caliyah E. Duncan of Lewiston, Lucas J. Irwin, Amelia Grace Irwin both of Nashua, NH, Declan J. Littlefield of Brewer, Omari Koumounete of Lewiston, Brock and Jack Bosse, both of Presque Isle, Garrett Brown of Poland; two sisters, Gloria McLaughlin and Tiny Flannery, both of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 13, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastors Cheryl Stratton and Jordan Shaw officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment will take place later in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Lillian to the Limestone United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 2 Burleigh Street, Limestone, Maine 04750.
