Dorothy K. White (Knight)
DOROTHY K. WHITE
PRESQUE ISLE

Presque Isle – Dorothy K. White, 99, wife of the late Almon E. “Ted” White, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday morning, March 26, 2018 at her Presque Isle home, following a brief illness. She was born November 22, 1918 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of W. Perry and Amber Edith (Austin) Knight.

Dorothy was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1938. She was a member of the Fort Fairfield United Parish Church where she was active with many committees. She was also a member of the former Goodwill Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was currently affiliated with the O.E.S. Lunar Chapter No. 126, Presque Isle. For the past seventeen years, Dorothy thought of Leisure Gardens in Presque Isle as her home. She enjoyed the many friendships she made there over the years, along with weekly bingo games and various other activities. Dorothy and her sister Mildred who also lived at Leisure Gardens until her death in 2015 were thought of as the “Power Chair Queens” and could been seen visiting the ducks at the pond near TAMC and also at many garage sales in the area. Dorothy will be remembered most for her “Classy Lady” appearance. Every hair in place, dressed to perfection with jewelry to match, makeup on and always plenty of good smelling perfume. Family was everything to Dorothy and she lived life to the fullest for 99 years.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Almon “Ted” White on February 12, 1984; her daughter Linda White on February 28, 2012; two brothers, Winston and Kenneth Knight; three sisters, Melba Field, Mildred Bell, and Sarah Carson. She is survived by one daughter, Joann Jodon of North Carolina; granddaughters, Melanie Harris of State College, PA, Connie Graham of North Carolina, Jodi Cyr and her husband Chad of Caribou; great grandchildren, Trevor Cyr and his companion Ashley Drinkall, Devin Cyr and his wife Katelynn, Tia Cyr, all of Caribou; great great granddaughter, Kandice Tardy of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces Cheryl Boulier and her husband Keith of Presque Isle, and Glenda Barnes of Fort Fairfield. Dorothy’s family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Leisure Garden, Senior Domestics, especially Brandi Bubar, and to Dr. Nancy O’Neill, for their loving and compassionate care they gave to Dorothy. God Bless you all!
