HOULTON & FORT FAIRFIELD

Houlton & Fort Fairfield – Russell P. “Bucky” Davenport, 73, passed away Monday evening, November 20, 2017 at a Houlton nursing facility, following a brief illness. He was born July 18, 1944 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Russell T. and Gwendolyn (Campbell) Davenport.

He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1964. Bucky was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and was a fuel delivery truck driver for Daigle Oil Company for 12 years and retired from the Dead River Company at the age of 62. He also served as Commissioner for York County.

He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by three stepdaughters, Karen Davis of East Waterboro, Lisa Monk of Arundel, Amy Eldridge of Northport; one sister, Sandra Davenport of Caribou; one half-sister Jean Cofone of Westbrook. He also leaves behind a special cousin Bill R. Campbell of Fort Fairfield; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday November 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield with the Rev. Troy Heald officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Davenport to C-A-N-C-E-R, P.O. Box 811, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
