Fort Fairfield – Joan L. Brayall, 54, wife of the late Gerald K. Brayall, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday September 20, 2017 at her Fort Fairfield home. She was born January 23, 1963 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Kenneth and Mildred (Pelletier) Morrissey.

She was a graduate of the Southern Victoria High School, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, and a graduate of the Northern Maine Technical College, Presque Isle, where she received her Associates Degree in Accounting. Joan loved to cook, and often could be heard singing as she did so. She was very sociable, friendly and loved children. She also loved gardening, especially tomatoes, however her favorite pastime was spending time with her husband and children.

In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband Gerald on October 20, 2016 and is survived by one son Patrick Brayall; one daughter, Jennifer Brayall and her companion Todd Michaud, all of Gorham; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Rose Morrissey of Bairdsville, NB, James and Faye Morrissey of Calgary, AB, John and Linda Morrissey of Aroostook, NB; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Louis Argo of South Carolina, Penny and David Gregory of Bairdsville, NB; brother-in-law, Jason Brayall and his wife Nicki of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law, Judith Caldwell and her husband Jeffrey of Auburn, Lisa Libby and her husband Timothy of Garland, TX, Terry Brayall of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield where a service to celebrate the lives of Joan and Gerald will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Private interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in Joan’s memory to the Epilepsy Foundation, Attn: Donor Services, Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place East, Suite 200, Landover, MD 20785.
