WILLIAM ROBERT GRAY GORDON
PRESQUE ISLE

Presque Isle - William (Bob) Gordon, 78, husband of the late Kerry Gordon, passed away on Tuesday evening, July 4th at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. He was born May 13, 1939 in Newtownards, County Down, Ireland the son of Samuel and Margaret (Gray) Gordon.

He attended school in Karachi, Pakistan and Bombay, India until age 11. He then attended the Royal Armagh Boarding School in Armagh, Northern Ireland and the Bangor Grammar School in Bangor, Northern Ireland. He moved to Canada in 1957 to work on the Great Lake tankers, and worked for several companies in Canada until he retired as a boiler engineer with the Detroit Stoker Company of Monroe, Michigan. William was an avid golfer and was a member of the Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Kerry Gordon on August 16, 2016; one brother, Trevor Gordon of Ontario; father-in-laws, Lee Griffin and Harlan Higgins; one brother-in-law, Allen Shaw. He is survived by his stepson, Todd Martin of Northport; sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Ken McIlroy of Williamsville, New York; mother-in-law, Mary Griffin of Presque Isle; sister-in-law, Karen Shaw of Presque Isle; niece, Tiffany Bindoo and her husband Carl of San Francisco, CA, niece, Sandy Adams and her husband Mike of Holliston, MA; nephew, Chad Shaw of Presque Isle, nephew, Mike McIlroy of Williamsville, NY; two great nephews, Harrison Bindoo of San Francisco, CA and Trevor McIlroy of Williamsville, NY; five great nieces, Portia, Victoria, and Sydney, all of Presque Isle and Shannon and Courtney of Holliston, MA; special friends to the family John Belanger of Caribou; and Neil, Jillian, and Gracie Crosby of Norridgewock, as well as golfing buddy Bob MacDougal of Caribou.

A graveside service conducted at Hillside Grove Cemetery, Crouseville on Saturday, July 29th at 3:00 p.m. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. William Gordon to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
