Presque Isle & Madawaska – Peggy L. Marchand, 83, wife of the late Paul L. Marchand passed away Monday morning, June 5, 2017 at her Presque Isle home following an extended illness. She was born November 18, 1933 in Bluefield, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Davidson) Bassett, she graduated high school in Northfork, WV.

She was married to Paul L. Marchand on November 22, 1952 and had been a resident of Madawaska for 30 years and Presque Isle for the past 12 years. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband Paul in 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Marchand; one grandson, Jessie Henderson, both of Limestone; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Carolyn Bassett of Bluefield, WV; one niece and one nephew.

In keeping with Peggy’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. She will be interred with her husband Paul at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Madawaska. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Peggy to C-A-N-C-E-R, P.O. Box 811, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
