NICHOLAS ‘NIK’ BERTIE DONOVAN
PRESQUE ISLE

Presque Isle - Nicholas “Nik” Bertie Donovan born March 23, 1979 went to be home with the Lord May 15, 2017 after a long brave battle with Huntington’s disease.

In 1998 he graduated from Presque Isle High School, attended NMCC ‘s auto body course prior to getting his CDL, then drove tractor trailer truck for Pelletier Trucking, Rocky Beach Trucking, Sinclair, and Pat’s Trucking, New Hampshire, achieving his dream to travel all 48 connected states, and would call his Mom with descriptions of the most beautiful sun rises and sun sets, mountain views, and funny stories.

In 2004 He married Heather Munn and soon after they were blessed with twin son’s Landon and Brandon, although circumstances led to a short marriage their friendship and ability to co-parent these wonderful children was cherished by them both.

Greeting each morning with a smile, Nicholas lived life to the fullest, and each day as his last. He loved the outdoors, fishing with his boys, hunting, hiking, riding 4wheelers, camping, the beach, and especially the laughter of his kids. He was a loving, compassionate, caring person from his first breath to his last, putting others first.

Following his Father’s death, Nicholas was blessed with a large blended family, one he cherished and accepted as his own, including many wonderful Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. Please forgive us if anyone is not mentioned, he loved you all, and had many fond memories. He cherished family gatherings, picnics, parties and weekend camping.

He is survived by his children Landon and Brandon Donovan, His parents Michael and Marilyn Brown of Dade City, Florida, Sister Michelle Froehle and her husband John of Great Falls, Montana, Brothers Michael Brown of Littleton ME and Anthony Brown of Hulbert Field, FL

A special thanks to his care givers over the last 10 years, too many to name but a few special loving souls that have been there for Nick during his most difficult days as well as the good. Gail, he loved you like a sister, you have encouraged him, lectured him when needed, and taken care in a way that goes beyond work and duty. Megan, thanks for encouraging Nick and getting him to rally when he wanted to give up. Claude, you are a wonderful cousin who spent endless time, encouraging, caring for and loving him. I know for you this had to be the most difficult, being buddies for life, it was not easy to be there but you where, showing strength and compassion I can only admire. Julie, he looked forward to McDonalds every Monday and Tuesday, your reading and praying with him. He was so blessed with special people who cared including the Leisure Garden staff and the Mercy Home staff where he spent his last days. Each and every one of you gave love unconditionally.

Nicholas was predeceased by his father, Keith Bertie Donovan on December 31, 1991, Maternal grandparents, James Edward Williams and Kathryn (Ellen) Lewin Williams Marshall, Paternal grandparents Bertie and Marion Donovan, and several cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

A celebration of Nik’s life will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Easton Wesleyan Church with Rev. Tony Stevens officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service in the church reception area. Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
