Fort Fairfield – Raymond T. Gallagher, 66, husband of Anna M. (Nadeau) Gallagher, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, April 30, 2017 at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born September 29, 1950 in Colchester, Connecticut, the son of John J. and Antoinette (Svec) Gallagher.

Ray served his country with the United States Air Force for close to twenty years and was stationed in various locations including, Korea, Alaska, Germany, and received his honorable discharges from Loring Air Force Base, Limestone. Ray was a member of the V.F.W. Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Fort Fairfield. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to camp, fish, hunt, ride his motorcycle and work with his tractor. He also enjoyed carpentry, helping others, and greatly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was currently employed at Lowe’s in Presque Isle as a project associate.

In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by one brother, James “Jimmy” Gallagher; and one sister, Ruth Marie Gallagher. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Anna M. Gallagher of Fort Fairfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Nicole Gallagher of Waterboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Darrell McGee of San Diego, CA; one stepdaughter, Jessica Kingsbury and her husband Jerod of Westfield; one sister, Rita Gallagher of East Haddam, CT; six grandchildren, Kori McGee and Darrell McGee, Jr., both of San Diego, CA, Jazmine and Victoria Gallagher both of Waterboro, Ella and Allen Kingsbury, both of Westfield; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday May 5, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted Saturday May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield at a later date.
