Obituary for Caffie T. Collins (Tardy)

Presque Isle – Caffie T. Collins, 74, passed away Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017 at a Van Buren Nursing facility, following a brief illness. She was born February 20, 1943 in Winterville, the daughter of Claude and Goldie (Burby) Tardy.

She was a graduate of the Presque Isle High School and resided in Florida for many years and moved back to Presque Isle after her retirement at age 62. Caffie was a member of the Church of Jesus in Presque Isle and greatly enjoyed her church family. She also enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee at McDonald’s and adored animals.

In addition to her parents, Caffie was predeceased by one daughter, Donna Collins; three brothers, Stanley, Collen and Calvin Tardy; one sister, Jackie Campbell. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Bishton of Davenport, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Maddy Tardy of Florida, Wayne and Arlene Tardy of Bangor; three sisters, Maxine Dow, Mildred Putnam, both of Presque Isle, Jeri Speheger of Florida. She also leaves behind a special friend Travis and his mother Shirley, both of Presque Isle, and a special niece Debbie Saucier of Presque Isle; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Caffie’s wishes, there will be no services. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s North Main Street Catholic Cemetery, Presque Isle, later in the spring. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross Street, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
