FORT FAIRFIELD & LIMESTONE

Fort Fairfield & Limestone – Janet M. “Jenny” Reynolds, 84, passed away Saturday morning October 1, 2016 at Caribou healthcare facility, following a brief illness. She was born June 11, 1932 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Ellery and Effie (Drake) Reynolds.

She attended Fort Fairfield schools and dedicated much of her life to volunteering in the Fort Fairfield area, helping countless people as the result. She was recognized with awards from many organizations including, the Aroostook Regional Taskforce for Older Citizens, the R.S.V.P., the Northern House Bible Study Program, and several awards for her dedicated service to the Town of Fort Fairfield, the Northern House and Fields Lane. She was an active member the Fort Fairfield Sunshine Club and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidery, going out to eat and shopping. Jenny especially enjoyed music, especially Gospel and Country-Western. She had been a resident of Limestone for the past 5 years.

In addition to her parents, Jenny was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Reynolds. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and John Ahern of Stonington, CT; numerous cousins and their spouses including, Alma and Gilbert Hitchcock of Caribou, the Rev. Burland and Peggy Margesson of Grand Rapids, MI, Barry and Gayla Drake of Poland, Gary Drake and Larry Drake, both of Presque Isle, Marilyn MacDonald of Brewer, Shirley and Phil Howard of Holden.

Friends may call Monday October 3, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Amuzzini officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Ridge Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Jenny to the Rising Hill Activities Fund, 95 Access Highway, Limestone, Maine 04750. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
