LIMESTONE

Limestone – Vincent L. “Bimp” Brooker, 74, husband of the late Carolyn (Johndro) Brooker, passed away Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016 at his Limestone residence, following an extended illness. He was born August 1, 1942 in Limestone, the son of Ambrose and Elsie (Bell) Brooker.

He attended Limestone schools and served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the early 1960’s. He was a lifelong communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone and had been employed for a number of years as a mechanic for Calvin West and later became employed by Ciambro as a pipe fitter. Bimp loved fishing, country music and most especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooker was predeceased by his wife Carolyn on January 16, 2015; one brother, Carvell “Sonny” Brooker; three sisters, Gloria Gray, Eleanor Gray and Martha “Louise” Moomey. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Darcy Brooker of Limestone, Eric and Dawn Brooker of Fort Fairfield; two stepdaughters, Kathy Pelkey of Limestone, Michelle Pelkey of Caribou; two brothers, and sisters-in-law, Dale “Porky” and Helen Brooker, Stephen “Cappy” and Diane Brooker, all of Limestone; four sisters, Frances “Mickey” Saucier of Wallagrass, Bernadette “Rosie” McLaughlin of Linneus, Dianne Thomas and Brenda Seward and her husband Gerry, all of Texas; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, 100 Main Street, Limestone with Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the interment at the St. Louis Catholic Church reception area. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Brooker to the St. Louis Catholic Church Ecumenical Food Pantry, care of the Parish of the Precious Blood, P.O. Box 625, Caribou, Maine 04736. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
