Fort Fairfield – Harriet Nellie Strout, 62, wife of Keith E. Strout, passed away Thursday morning, October 8, 2015, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born October 7, 1953 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Harry Thomas and Jacqueline “Jackie” Florence (Greenier) Deschesne.

She was a member of the Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1973 and was married to Keith E. Strout on August 13, 1988. She had been employed by Printworks for a period of time and was a charter member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Fairfield. Harriet enjoyed playing cards, karaoke, bingo, and was a great fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She was especially fond of cats but her life was her grandchildren.

Harriet was predeceased by her father, Harry Thomas Deschesne; one brother-in-law, Earlon Stetson.

She is survived by her mother, Jackie Deschesne of Pittsfield; her husband of 27 years, Keith E. Strout of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Tonya L. Rasmussen and her fiancé Branden Brewer of Fort Fairfield, Ericka Weatherbee and her husband Jon-Sabastian of Presque Isle; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Naida Deschesne, William J. and Diane Deschesne, all of Presque Isle, James and Betty Deschesne of O’Fallon, IL, Peter and Irma Deschesne of Pittsfield, John and Diane Deschesne of Littleton, NH; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Stetson of Mars Hill, Ann and Mike Hayes of Fort Fairfield, Mary and Greg Michaud of Arthurette, New Brunswick, Anita Deschesne Ireland of Fort Fairfield, Joan and David Widmer of Garland, TX; three grandchildren, Logan D. Thibeau of Fort Fairfield, Makayla Young of Glenburn, Evangeline Weatherbee of Presque Isle; numerous niece, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Friends may call Sunday October 11, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Monday October 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ronnie Doughty officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.
