Fort Fairfield – Alana Avaleen Nelson, 2 years, 10 months, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, March 9, 2015 in Stockholm as the result of a tragic automobile accident. She was born May 3, 2012 in Presque Isle, the daughter of Callum F. Nelson and Bobbi-Jo Johnston.
Alana was a true cowgirl and loved dressing up in her cowgirl outfits. She truly loved her entire family, and her cats and dogs. She touched many many lives in her short time on earth.
She was predeceased by both her mother, Bobbi-Jo and her grandmother, Laurie (True) Johnston on March 9, 2015; and her paternal great grandfather, Ralph F. Nelson; and her paternal great grandmother, Rebecca Gallop. Alana leaves behind her father Callum F. Nelson of Fort Fairfield; maternal grandfather, Robert Johnston of Carlingford, New Brunswick; paternal grandparents, Pam Hubbard and her husband Ross of Fort Fairfield and Ronald P. Nelson of Mapleton; maternal great grandparents, Gregory “Fred” and Carolyn True of Fort Fairfield, and Frank and Mary Johnston of Perth, New Brunswick; paternal great grandparents, Lawrence Gallop of Fort Fairfield and Vivian Harshman of Arizona; special aunts, Nicole Johnston of Carlingford, New Brunswick, and Jessica Santos and her husband Sebastian of Milford, MA; a special cousin Logan Matthew Robert of Carlingford, New Brunswick; as well as many great aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family members.
A service to Celebrate the Lives of Alana, Bobbie-Jo and Laurie Johnston will be conducted Monday, March 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield with Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Alana to the Carl Robert Dream Foundation, 304 North Caribou Road, Fort Fairfield, Maine 04742. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
