FORT FAIRFIELD


Fort Fairfield – Gloria M. Kinney, 79, wife of the late Harold W. Kinney, passed away Tuesday evening September 3, 2013 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. She was born January 23, 1934 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Raymond Sr. and Rose (Guimond) McDougal. Gloria attended Fort Fairfield schools and was married to Harold W. Kinney on November 30, 1974. She was a lifelong communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield and had been employed at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle in their housekeeping department for many years. Gloria enjoyed fishing, cooking, knitting and spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kinney was predeceased by her husband Harold on April 9, 1995; one daughter, Carol D. Fuller on October 7, 1990; two brothers, Raymond McDougal Jr. and Larry McDougal; one sister, Helen Shock . She is survived by one son, John Johnson of Florida; and a dear friend, Ella Leighton of Fort Fairfield; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, with Father Emile Dube celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the interment at the St. Denis Catholic Church reception area. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Kinney to the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 625, Caribou, Maine 04736 or to the American Lung Association of Maine, 122 State Street, Augusta, Maine 04330. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and church.
